Work offer methods

Default work offer methods in CrewDriver

Change the default work offer method in Settings under Offers.

Order by Ranked Position List

One of two default offer methods in CrewDriver, offers are sent to top ranked workers first, then work down the ranking list for for each position in the call.

Fewest Hours First

The other default offer method in CrewDriver, offers are sent first to qualified workers with the least number of hours in the week the available shift takes place. Once someone accepts a shift the list is updated, so the next work offer always goes to the person with the least hours first.

How CrewDriver uses referral lists

When a call is started with a selected referral list, CrewDriver sends work offers to qualified members of the list.

Any referral list can be selected as the starting list, CrewDriver will then work through each list until they have all been exhausted.

Examples:

  • A call is started on list A, it will proceed through lists B, C, D, in order and then stop.
  • A call is started on list C, it will proceed through lists D, A, B, in order and then stop.

Rotational Method

Starting from one after the last person on the list to accept a work offer, work offers are sent in order until either the call is filled or every qualified person on the list has been offered a shift. CrewDriver then moves to the next referral list, starting again with one after the last person on the list to accept a work offer.

Non-rotational Method

Starting from the top of the list with every call, work offers are sent to qualified workers. Once every qualified person on the list has been offered a shift, CrewDriver then moves to the next referral list, starting at the top of the list and working to the end.

Contract Procedure

Selecting Contract procedure uses a position list ordered alphabetically and then jumps to a referral list.

Example:

  • A call is started on Technical Leads, it will then move to referral list A, then proceed through B, C, D, in order and then stop.

Referral list

— An ordered list of workers.

Referral lists are used by unions and other organizations to provide an equitable distribution and opportunity for work. A referral list may include every worker at an organization, or many referral lists may be organized by an arbitrary categorization such as registration date or seniority.
